Monday 17th August 2026 – Turas threorithe tríd Ghaeilge ann Caisleáin Mhullach Íde

Date & Time: Monday, 17th August 2026 | 1pm

Beidh turas threorithe trí Ghaeilge ar fáil faoi stair agus saibhreas Caisleain Mhullach Íde ar an 17ú lá dé mhí Lúnasa. Ait chonaithe Muintir Thalbóid ó 1147 go dtí 1976, tá scéal Chaisleáin Mhullach Íde fíor thábhactadh ní amháin faoi stair an cheantair, ach stair na hÉireann chomh maith! Bígi linn le Laura Ni Dhubhir i rith  Seachtain na hOidhreachta seo.

Tuesday 18th August 2026 – Art Tour of Malahide Castle

Join Malahide Castle’s curator Cathal Dowd Smith for this behind-the-scenes tour of the art collection of Malahide Castle. This tour will delve into the stories, symbols and meaning behind the art collection on display at Malahide Castle. As well as looking at the important collection of portraiture on loan from the National Gallery of Ireland, the tour will look at recent acquisitions and new loans to the Castle which contribute significantly to the telling of Malahide’s history. The curator will also bring the audience through some of the conservation challenges of caring for a significant collection.

Thursday 20th August 2026 – ‘Housekeeping Past and Present’ Behind the Scenes Tour of Malahide Castle

Enjoy a rare behind the scenes tour of Malahide exploring the origins of housekeeping in the early modern period, through huge innovation in the 18th and 19th centuries right up to the present day. The tour will cover the modern conservation standards that keep the building and precious collection in good condition while also celebrating the hard work and professional insight of the many domestic servants who spent their lives working here.
