General Maintenance Worker/Porter at Malahide Castle & Gardens

About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled General Maintenance Worker/Porter to join our team at Malahide Castle & Gardens. This role is crucial in ensuring that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards and that our visitors enjoy a seamless experience.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Opening & closing the visitor centre daily.
• Basic repairs and fixes in the Visitor Centre and Castle, with flexibility to work on other properties under our remit as needed.
• Set up of meeting rooms for corporate use.
• Meeting contractors for works and/or PPMs.
• Event building where needed.

Required Skills:

• Flexibility to work on other sites and at weekends and later hours during events.
• Carpentry skills are a bonus.
• Good communication skills.
• Proven history of reliability and good timekeeping.
• Keen eye for issues/breakages and a problem-solving attitude.
• Good interpersonal skills, as interaction with the general public will occur.
• Neat workmanship and safety consciousness.
• Team player and willing to work hard.
