Across the walled garden and lawns surrounding the Castle is the famous Talbot botanical collection, one of few botanic collections on the island of Ireland.

The collection was assembled by Lord Milo Talbot between 1948-1973.

Lord Milo was one of the most knowledgeable gardeners in Ireland during his time and brought back many plants from his travels through Australasia, Asia, North Africa and South America.
